Shanghai Port will become the third port in the world with LNG filling service capacity

FROM:CMAC | 2022-03-31

Recently, a huge object - the world's largest 20,000 cubic metre liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel - has been visible from time to time on the sea surface of Yangshan Port in Shanghai, ready to provide LNG bunkering service for the French Duffy container liner calling at Yangshan Port in the coming March.

This will be the first order in China to provide bonded LNG refuelling services for international vessels. It also means that Shanghai Port will become the third port in the world to have LNG refuelling service capability after Rotterdam Port in the Netherlands and Singapore Port. The new business will bring a new growth point for Shanghai Port, and more importantly, it will help improve the service functions of Shanghai Port, attract dual-fuel international ships to berth, enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of Shanghai International Shipping Centre and promote the sustainable development of the shipping industry.
