CMAC and Beihai Maritime Court Signed Cooperation Agreement

On August 21, 2025, CMAC and Beihai Maritime Court signed a Maritime Judiciary and Maritime Arbitration Cooperation Agreement on (the Cooperation Agreement). Dr Li Hu, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CMAC, and Ms Su Weilin, Vice President of Beihai Maritime Court, signed the Cooperation Agreement on behalf of their respective institutions, before the witness of Ms Wang Juan, Vice President of the CCPIT Guangxi Sub-committee, and Mr Xiong Ruijiang, Secondary Inspector of the Department of Justice of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

According to the Cooperation Agreement, Beihai Maritime Court may entrust CMAC Greater Bay Area Arbitration Center to conduct mediation. CMAC Greater Bay Area Arbitration Center shall follow the principles of legality, party autonomy, standardized procedures, fairness and impartiality in court-entrusted mediations to facilitate the proper resolution of disputes. The Cooperation Agreement specifies the procedures for court-entrusted mediation, methods of appointing mediators, and the time limits. Moreover, it also includes working mechanisms such as the procedures of arbitration preservation, the enforcement of arbitral awards, professional exchanges, and joint activities.
