The State Council: Encourage Arbitration Institutions to Participate in Foreign-related Intellectual Property Disputes Resolving
Chinese Premier Li Qiang recently signed a decree of the State Council promulgating the State Council Regulations on the Settlement of Foreign-related Intellectual Property Disputes (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations"), which will come into force on May 1, 2025. There are a total of 18 articles in the Regulations, of which Article 7 stipulates that commercial mediation organizations and arbitration institutions shall be supported to participate in the resolution of foreign-related intellectual property disputes by providing citizens and organizations with efficient and convenient ways to resolve foreign-related intellectual property disputes, and the government shall encourage and guide citizens and organizations to resolve foreign-related intellectual property disputes through reconciliation, mediation and arbitration.
