On 31 December 2021, the Supreme People's Court issued the Rules for the Online Mediation by People's Courts (the Online Mediation Rules), which shall come into effect on 1 January 2022. As another landmark judicial interpretation issued by the Supreme People's Court after the Rules for the Online Litigation by People's Courts, the Online Mediation Rules are of milestone significance in improving the dispute resolution system with distinctive Chinese characteristics, practical and contemporary features, building a new world-leading model of Internet justice and achieving a higher level of digital justice.
